
In the late1890s when Henry Butters established small village he named Constantia it included the prequisite general store. The store, which was common in that era, housed the post office. Lively time were had when the Constantia was headquarters to the Pyramid Lake Land & Cattle Company. When Galeppi family acquired Constantia, the ranch operations were scaled back. By the late 1920s the store was closed and it was converted into a bunk house.
