Looking forward to your piece on William S. Brashear, my husband’s great-grandfather, who, by all accounts, fought for the Confederacy before coming west to Honey Lake Valley. Can’t find a record of his military service, however–the William Brashears I’ve found fought for the Union. Likely, however, that OUR William did fight for the South, as his father owned a few slaves, much to my husband’s chagrin!
