The acreage where they used to store logs headed for the mill became a huge playground for us kids that grew up in the nearby neighborhoods. Once we got old enough it also became a huge unauthorized motocross park. It was a wonderful place where many kids enjoyed days outside. I was disappointed the first time I came back to visit my dad and they had built houses. Definitely a better use than letting it sit empty, but it kind of took away some great childhood memories.
