I thought I would take this opportunity to inquire as to if anyone had a certain topic they would like to see in a future post. There is no rhyme or reason as to what appears on a daily basis. Some are purely accidental by nature, while researching one topic, I come across information totally irrelevant from the search. A prime example was that of the Edsel Dealership. In essence that was the foundation for my original research. I started with Buster McKissick, which introduced me to the town of Amedee, that led to boating on Honey Lake. Thus, it is a never ending process, one item leads into the next.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these daily postings. So drop me a line, if there is something you would like addressed.

You are doing a great job Tim, keep them coming. Also I found a copy of George Heath’s book, Forty Million Hoof Beats, Great read!
Thank you Nick. It is nice to know you are enjoying the posts and thank you for your support.
DO YOU HAVE ANY INFO. ON THE NATIVE AMERICANS IN THE MUD FLAT/SMOKE CREEK/RAVENDALE AREA? LIKE WHEN THEY LAST LIVED THERE. THE SIZE OF THE COMMUNITIES OR ANYTHING AT ALL ON THEM. ALSO ANY INFO. YOU MIGHT HAVE ON THE PLINCO MINE ABOVE MILFORD. TRULY LOVE YOUR DAILY POSTS. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Margo, I will work on it, I do have material on the Native Americans for that region. It will take me some time to assemble. Wow, you impress me that you even knew about Plinco mine. I have my work cut out for me. Thank you for supporting me.
What about the McClelland ranch in Litchfield? It backs up to the Mapes Ranch and it would be interesting to see if they were connected at one point-
They were never connected. I started work on a history of that region back in the 1970s. My family settled in that area, originally at Soldier Bridge in 1869, i.e., Tanners, and we are the only ones left in that section of the valley. I completed a draft not too long ago. In 2012, I sent a postcard survey to 1,000 people if they were interested in a history of Standish and the Tule region, and only 12 people replied.
I also would like to learn more about the McClelland Ranch. I live on the ranch now and it would be interesting to learn the origins and see pictures, etc. I have been unsuccessful in finding any so far.
I am interested in the Leavitt Cemetery up Rice Canyon Road.
Just finished it and will appear on August 3.
The Coca-Cola Bottling Company. I remember visiting it as a child.
Tim, I look forward to your posts, and appreciate your work. I’m not certain there is much written history, but I have always been fascinated with local brothels, and the seedy side of lassen county.
I am well versed on this topic. I need to take a photograph of the oldest bordello on North Roop Street.
I would like to know “the rest of the story” about the fatal dust up between RJ Scott and Mathew Craft.
