Worked for me.
You posted a story about deportation in Westwood a few weeks ago. I want to add a few lines to that as it pertained to George’s family history.
His mother, grandparents and uncles were the Trudeaus that were subjected to deportation. The uncles had been recruited in Canada to come to America to work at the mill. When they had enough money to afford a trip back to Canada, one of the brothers returned and brought down another sister and the grandparents. George thought that was early 1927.
There was a police officer in Westwood who arranged sports events for the young men to participate in and the Trudeaus were wrestlers and boxers. I believe the officers name was Hibbs and George visited with him in the 80s in Susanville.
I believe he mentioned he had a son living in Susanville at the time.
The family story was that they were deported after the youngest son, Phil Trudeau beat up one of Walkers sons at school. All the Trudeau returned to Canada and became famous wrestlers and boxers. We have pictures of some appearing in England for big events. The grandfather was a blacksmith.
I have it 🙂 – thanks for sending the great tidbits about my sweet home town. I enjoy receiving the emails.
Your Automation worked Tim.
Thanks, Martin
