A school in Secret Valley? Wow. Does anyone know: Did there used to be more grassland there? Was it overgrazed back in the day? When I was a kid, we used to tool around the boonies in the family Jeep. We often came upon abandoned and tumbling-down houses. Sometimes, you could imagine a small ranch there, but some of these homesteads were surrounded by sagebrush. I would wonder why anyone would have settled out there in the first place. I know there was a stretch of wetter-than-usual years. Maybe that drew folks into the desert?
